Help Us Green West Twyford: Adopt a New Street Tree!

Starting next year, 33 new street trees will be planted in West Twyford as part of a local initiative to green our area, foster community spirit, and enhance the environment. We’re inviting residents to adopt a nearby tree to ensure it thrives.

Why adopt a tree? Newly planted trees need regular watering, especially from May to September, during their first five years. Consistent care helps them establish strong roots and flourish, which in turn provides shade, cleaner air and added beauty to our neighbourhood.

How to get involved:

  • Register your interest in watering a local tree via the Trees for Streets QR code. This lets you contribute directly to the health of West Twyford’s green spaces.
  • Learn about tree stakes and how they help support young trees.
  • Visit the Trees for Streets website to discover more ways to help and watch a short video explaining why trees are so vital to urban areas.

Did you know? Research shows that planting street trees can even reduce local crime rates. Join us in this community effort to adopt a tree, and together, let’s make West Twyford a greener, safer place for everyone!
