Plant More Trees

green tree in the middle of grass field

33 new street trees will be planted in the area from next year.  If you have a tree planted near you, please adopt it.  Trees need regular watering, especially between May and September, to help them establish in the first 5 years of being planted.

You can register your interest to water a tree here.  You can also find information on the stakes of new street trees and can register using the Trees for Streets QR code.  This will help the council monitor the health of a tree.  Check out the Trees for Streets website to learn more.

Here’s a short video on why trees are important.  There’s also research to show that planting street trees reduces crime, so please help by adopting a street tree today!

Diageo Conversion to a Hotel

diageo-building

1 Lakeside Drive, formally Diageo’s headquarters, is set to be retrofitted with initially plans indicating that the new use case will primarily be as a hotel.

LSL Partners and Central & Provincial have undertaken the project and state that their proposals will provide:

High-quality, sustainable design that prioritises retaining and retrofitting the existing building.

New jobs onsite, as well as increased spendig in the area from hotel guests and employees.

A welcoming entrance to the area to the north of Western Avenue bride

An active ground floor, providing an opportunity to create much-needed space for public use, with early ideas including gym/welling spaces, co-working spaces, restaurants and cafes.

Public spaces that can be used by both hotel guests and local residents.

A brand-new hotel for visitors to the area.

🗑️ New Tower Bins Installed to Help Keep Our Streets Clean

We’re pleased to announce that, thanks to our ongoing collaboration with Ealing Council, new tower bins have been installed along Twyford Abbey Road and Mason Green Lane.

Additionally, following positive discussions with Euro Snacks, the business has taken the initiative to install branded tower bins outside their main entrance and along Elveden Road.

These developments mark an important step towards a cleaner community. However, we all play a role in making this initiative a success. Please help us by using the bins provided and encouraging others to do the same.

🙏 Thank you for your continued support in keeping West Twyford clean and litter-free. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
